Una figura sul fondo. Una figura di sfondo. Una figura senza ombra. È un’ombra. Una figura appoggiata, ma non caduta. Sta a terra, spazialmente, nel punto dove due superfici, una verticale e una orizzontale, entrano in conflitto, collassano l’una sull’altra, e danno origine ad una forma. La forma dello spazio. Non s’alza da terra tale figura, ma a terra trova la sua verticale, il suo stare retta. Il suo modo di procedere. O retrocedere. Di nuovo nessun personaggio, nessuna persona. Solo una presenza messa tra due limiti: il suo modo di riempire uno spigolo. Lì si consuma il suo dramma. E non c’è posto migliore. Questa figura è la prima, è la figura di base. Da qui partono le biforcazioni. Le figure che seguiranno a partire da questa, sceglieranno di volta in volta di prendere la via che si era aperta la volta precedente, ma che si era, per motivi sempre inspiegabili, non scelta. È un lavoro di innesti, di prolungamenti, un calcolo combinatorio tra luoghi e situazioni. Scelgo di scegliere ogni possibilità.

A figure at the back. A background figure. A figure without shadow. It is a shadow. A figure leaned, not fallen. It is on the ground, spatially, in the point where two surfaces, one vertical and one horizontal come into conflict, collapse one on the other, and give birth to a shape. The shape of the space. That figure doesn’t rise from the ground, but from the ground finds its vertical, its attitude upright. Its approach to proceed. Or else, to go back. Again, not a character, nor a person. Just a presence put between two limits: and its way to fill up a corner. There its drama is performed. And there couldn’t be better place. This is the first figure, it’s the basic figure. From here starts a bifurcation. The figures following from this first one, will choose from time to time to take the path that had been opened the previous time, but that, for reasons still unexplained, had not been chosen. It is a work of grafting. Of extensions. A combinatorial calculation between places and situations. I choose to choose every possibility.
